Animated artworks for AR / VR exhibition

Project overview

Poty Expandido is an exhibition that proposes a new layer of interpretation for the work of Poty Lazzarotto, expanding his two-dimensional drawings into the digital space.

Based on the artworks selected for the exhibition, I created animations designed to be accessed through mobile devices. By scanning the artworks with their phones, visitors could experience the drawings coming to life in virtual reality, creating an immersive and sensory experience.

Challenge

The main challenge of this project was animating iconic artworks without compromising their original identity.
The goal was not to modernize Poty’s work, but to respect his line, rhythm, and visual narrative, using subtle motion to expand the meaning of each piece.

Another key aspect was designing the animation as part of the exhibition experience.
The movement needed to work within the visitor’s attention span and function seamlessly in a mobile scanning context.
